Hey there sawdust lovers - I gotta tell you that I surely do love my Stihl MS 280, maybe even more than the WCW. This baby rocks! She's durable as all get out and she's so garshdon manageable that you barely even notice her seductive kickback. She's also lean and mean weighing in at just under a dozen pounds. My bud Kevin Kelly also reckons this a here chainsaw can tear up some wood-
I've used three or four other brands of chainsaws but when a 50-foot-tall, 34-inch-diameter walnut tree fell on my barn, I decided I needed a better chainsaw than I could get at Sears. A brand new Stihl model 280 with a 20-inch bar cost $420 USD at my local store and I don't regret one penny. Some say that it's no longer available in the U.S., can anyone confirm or deny such rumors? I reckon their false seeing as how Popular Mechanics reviewed a different version of the Stihl 280 this summer. Anybody else out there in the woods got one of these? Ho do you like yours?

I need advice on how to fix my 024AV Stihl chainsaw. The specific problem is that the switch that goes from CHOKE/START to RUN To STOP is loose and often sort of jiggles into the stop position. I can see it happening.
I can take it to a shop here and part with $100-150, but I'd prefer a lower cost solution.

I sure do appreciate your review on the 280! I've been saw shopping for something that can handle cutting up all this dead elm I have on the property and someone mentioned this saw. I did a search and found your blog and glowing review. It's been a big help! Thanx!
That's a great info. Thanks for sharing, land marvel contact chennai
